Ode to A Calico

Your hair is everywhere

But usually on my bed

The place you came to cuddle

And liked to sleep on top my head

Sometimes while I was reading

You’d sprawl out on my tummy

It made it hard to breathe

But I still thought it was funny

At the sound of a can opener

You would run into the room

Where you are right now

I only can assume

I will miss your little head bashing into my face

And never seeing you again

I know just aint the case

So somewhere down the road

Where we meet I’ll have to guess

But I will bring a can of tuna

And make us TNS

  1. I love that picture! Nice poem… you are a regular Longfellow. Really, it is very Jasmine. Maybe Steve won’t need quite so much allergy medicine now when he comes over. And Alicia was at the Tag Sale too… I forgot it was so long ago. Sweet Jazzy crack… sound of my heart breaking
